It seems that not everybody is aware about the following regulation:

 

 

Additional reporting obligation for east- or westbound Kiel-Canal transits concerning vessels carrying dangerous or polluting goods according to the ordinance on the requirements for vessels entering the German internal waters from outside

Please pay special attention to page 7 / pos. 2.2.1 and further.

 

The reporting can be arranged via your agent by a service provider at cost price. It has to be made sure that the required information is notified only once for each voyage.

 

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further clarification.

 

 

Kindly be informed that in Kiel-Holtenau the New Big South Lock Chamber will be taken out of service for repairs from

Tuesday, 08.05.2012 – 08:00 hrs until 14:00 hrs.

During the aforementioned period the New Big North Lock Chamber and the North Lock Chamber of the old locks will remain in service.

Repairs to the New Big North Lock Chamber Brunsbuettel have been completed and both New Big Lock Chambers are back in service for the time being.

However would like to remind that repairs will re-commence

07.05.2012 until 11.05.2012

Kindly be informed that in Kiel-Holtenau the New Big South Lock Chamber will be taken out of service for repairs from

Tuesday, 24.04.2012 – 07:30 hrs until Thursday, 26.04.2012 – 15:00 hrs.

During the aforementioned period the New Big North Lock Chamber and the North Lock Chamber of the old locks will remain in service.

The Kiel-Canal Authorities have just announced that due to repairs the New Big North Lock Chamber Brunsbuettel will be taken out of service during the following periods

23.04.2012 until 27.04.2012

and

07.05.2012 until 11.05.2012

The New Big South Lock Chamber and both Old Lock Chambers will remain in service.

Kiel-Canal authorities just informed us that strike of linesmen ended today 22:00 hrs. Consequently Kiel-Canal transit is possible/available both ways again and no further delays expected.

Dear Sirs,

Kiel-Canal authorities informed us that Kiel-Canal transits from the Baltic Sea to the North Sea are again available/possible without any further delays (locks can be passed in Brunsbuettel for outgoing/North Sea bound vessels of course) .

Kiel-Canal transits from North Sea to Baltic Sea are still not possible until today/22:00 hrs.
